Located in Brockton and Avon this park is great for walking, running, fishing, and bicycling. Many enjoy the park early in the morning before the road is open to vehicles. Gates open at 10:00 am M-F, 12:00 noon on weekends & Holidays and close at dusk. Park may be closed during inclement weather. Vehicles have one-way access through the park, the left side of the road is pedestrian only with various paved and unpaved foot trails. There's parking throughout the park in designated areas. Swimming and skating are not permitted.
Constructed in the late 1880’s, the Brockton Reservoir continues to supply drinking water for area residents after 120 years.
The park is enthralled with an abundance of biodiversity.
The most prominent landmark is the 60 foot tall, Observation Tower. Built in 1928 at the highest point, known as Indian Cave Hill or Tower Hill from fieldstones gathered within the park grounds. Overlooking Waldo Lake, Upper Porter’s Pond and D.W. Field Golf Course, ninety steps lead to an observation deck with a visage in all directions as far as Blue Hills. On a clear day Boston’s skyline is visible. Check our events page for days the Tower is open.
